Small Talk Six-Jan 9

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Small Talk Six topic for this week is 6 of your most vivid childhood memories.
  1. When I was six I remember going to Disney Land down in Orlando, FL. I dont remember everything but I remember me and my brother sitting with Mickey and getting our picture taken with those Mickey caps on our head!
  2. On the last day of school in fifth grade I remember going camping with my grandparents. We were gone for about 5 days and I had never been away that long but I really enjoyed it...except for the showering in a room with other people!
  3. I dont remember the my exact age but I think around 10 or 11 for Christmas Santa my parents got my brother and I a go-cart. We thought that was the coolest because when we got up early that morning the go-cart was actually in our living room. I thought that was pretty cool of Santa my parents rather than leaving it outside for us to "find."
  4. Speaking of Christmas, I remember every year as a child spending Christmas Eve with my dad's side of the family and then Christmas with my mom's side. All of the family was always there and it was just a great time.
  5. Since birth I was diagnosed with Asthma & Eczema (really dry skin) and I remember in Kindergarten that we were having to hold hands for something in PE and this girl refused to hold my hand because the palm of my hand had a crack in it from being so dry (like when your lips are dry and crack open). My feeling were hurt by her actions and the big deal that she made of the situation. Ironically, that girl later became my best friend throughout elementary and high school!
  6. As mentioned above I had Asthma as a child and because it wasnt that common back then I had a lot of trouble with it. It wasnt controlled like it is today with today's medicine. So on October 29, 1987 (I was 4) I stopped breathing completely in my sleep. My mom got worried because I normally wake up during the night with problems and I hadnt so she went in there to check on my and found me all blue. They gathered me up and rushed me to the hospital...I remember coming to the second they took me outside and the cold air hit me. I was admitted into the hospital for a few days for observation but obviously I am fine now.
