Christmas Eve at my parents

Tuesday, December 29, 2009 1
We had Christmas with my parents on Christmas Eve. My brother has a long distance girl friend and he was going to spend Christmas morning with her family. Kaylyn got a bunch of good presents from my parents and my brother. Justin (my brother) got her a Nintendo DSI that has a camera, plays music, and connects wirelessly to the Internet. It's pretty neat. From my parents she got some My Little Pony stuff, a Baby Alive, a Little Mermaid doll, some Wii games and game for the DSI. I do believe she got everything she asked for! Here are some pics from that night.

Not the best side of my mom lol!

After we left my parents house we got home just in time to see Santa on the firetruck. I was really impressed with the Fire Dept this year. Not only did one dress up as Santa and ride around on the firetruck but he actually got down from the truck and interacted with the kids. Here is a pic of him and Kaylyn. Please note it was very windy that night...

I got a Dot Com!

Monday, December 28, 2009 1
I have been telling you for weeks now that I will be changing my url and I did. Well I went to GoDaddy.com and played around there for a while trying to figure out what I wanted and I finally came up with it. My new URL is www.mylifeinabombshell.com. I didnt want to completely get away from my weightloss blog or my family in general so I decided to just have it in one spot...all in one. Over the next couple of weeks I am hoping to work with my girl Tinika and do a complete makeover to go along with my new URL. She has done this blog as well as my MK blog and has always done a great job so I am going to stick with her. She is awesome!

Once I Tinika get the makeover done I am hoping to do a few contests as well as some other fun things. If you have some idea's let me know...as well as ideas for the new makeover!

Not Me Monday

Yes, my friends! It's that time again! It's Not Me Monday! So here is what I have NOT been doing the last week! After you read my Not Me's dont forget to head over to MckMama's Blog and see what her and everyone else have NOT been doing lately!
  • Like everyone else, I did NOT eat too much over the weekend! I am NOT counting down the days (4 days) until I do NOT start my New Year's diet!
  • We did NOT have the best Christmas! It was NOT busy at all.
  • I did NOT cry like a baby when I hit my knee on Kaylyn's bed. I am NOT a baby and have better things to cry about!
  • Kaylyn and I were NOT making Gingerbread cookies the other night and the dough wasnt very doughy so I did NOT throw that batch away and make more!
  • Oakley the Magic Elf did NOT return to the North Pole with Santa on Christmas Eve.

Happy Birthday Jesus

Friday, December 25, 2009 2
When I was a teenager we use to have a Christmas Eve Service at my church. It was always a great service. I use to love going because it was so special. Of course we read the REAL Christmas story and then at the end our pastor would light one candle at the front of the Sanctuary and from that candle would light another and then another. It was amazing to see the darkness of one candle but when shared with the other's the light was so bright. As the last candle was lit we would all sing Happy Birthday to Jesus. It was an awesome!

O Christmas Tree

Tuesday, December 22, 2009 3
I love Christmas time. I love the season and the Christmas Spirit. My favorite thing is the Christmas tree. There is something about a Christmas tree that I am drawn to. I love to decorate them and I love the smell of real trees. I know alot of people like the fake ones because they are easier to handle but I have to have a real one. I love the lights, the decorations and of course all the presents underneath. When I am at home my lights on my tree are always on. I have to have it on. Kevin makes fun of me because I always have the tree lights on. Even when I was a kid I had our lights on our tree on. Then on Christmas Eve we would leave our lights on all night. However, since I got married Kevin under no circumstance will leave the lights on all night.

Do you have any Christmas traditions? Is there anything special you like about Christmas?

  • Once again I Oakley the Elf did NOT decorate the tree with something new...panties. See this post about Oakley and this post to see the panties lol!
  • I did NOT have 2 family Christmas get together's this weekend and I did NOT over eat at all! I did NOT even go back for seconds.
  • I did NOT go to my Sunday School Christmas party on Friday night and get home at 12:30am! Not a church function!
  • I do NOT have the best MIL and I did NOT go shopping with her just for the fun of it yesterday. I do NOT talk my MIL at least once or twice a day! My husband does NOT get a little irritated that his mom tells me things before she tells him!
  • Our redneck neighbors did NOT move last week! We are NOT excited to hopefully have some normal people moving in!
  • Kaylyn was NOT gone most of the weekend at my inlaws and my mother's house and I did NOT plan on going to bed early both nights and I did NOT stay up to close to 2 am in the morning!

My Sister In Law

Sunday, December 20, 2009 5
For those who follow me on twitter already know about my SIL but I wanted to blog about it too. Please be in prayer for my SIL. Her and her 15 year old son were on their way to church this morning when one of their tires blew out and she over corrected her vehicle. This caused her to flip 5-6 times and land on her (driver's) side on the guardrail. Her injuries were extensive so they air-lifted her to the hospital and took her son with them. However, her son walked away miraculously with some cuts and scrapes and that is it. My SIL was not that lucky. Both of her legs are broken in multiple places, one of her wrist are broken, and she was bleeding internally. The doctors couldnt figure where she was bleeding at so they had to do an emergency exploratory surgery. They ended up removing her spleen and fixing some lacerations on her small & large intestines. They put a filter in her heart in hopes of it would stop a blood clot if it went to her heart. They are keeping her sedated and she in on a ventilator. She is in critical condition.

This is the one thing I hate about living so far away from family...even if it is Kevin's family. This is Kevin's brother's wife. I just feel so helpless. We are 13 hours away so it would take us a while to get there anyway. For now we have decided not to go but if things get worse we might be making a trip down to Miami. I really hate this especially since its so close to Christmas. If she makes it there is no doubt she has a long road ahead. I hate her family is going through this however, I am glad her daugther wasnt in the vehicle. Her daughter is 6 and they do not use a booster seat with her. There is no doubt in my mind that if she had been in the car she would have been ejected from the vehicle.

Please keep my SIL in your prayers. She will be having another surgery in the morning that will reset both of her legs. The surgery will take about 4 hrs. Thanks for all of your prayers! I will keep you updated.
